The route from Maenan to Gwytherin needs more work, as many of the footpaths across farmland are blocked. At the moment the best route is probably to walk back up the hill from Maenan but turn right at the fork and take the metalled lane round to Llanddoged. It should be possible to walk south along lanes and footpaths to Pentre Tafarn-y-fedw then south-east to cross the B5113 at Nant y Fedwen. The lane above Moelogen Fawr is not marked as a right of way on older maps but is obviously walked.
Continue along the metalled road past Graig bach, then when the road bears left, take the rough track through the gate ahead of you and up the left boundary of the field. At the top, bear round to the right to cross the fence then back to the left, over the stile and straight on along a stony track. When you reach Pen-y-graig (deserted in 2002 but used as sheds) go left through the gate and down a little stony track then straight on across the field. The footpath runs down the left of a pretty wooded valley to Gwytherin.
